The things we do for Hannah

Comments:
my daughter lucy had a pet chicken named fred despite being a hen. she was around 2 and a neighbor gave her the hen as a chick. fred would follow lucy all around the yard like a dog. fred eventually disappeared, probably eaten by coyotes since we lived in the country then. she then named a goldfish she won at the fair fred. despite a weird upbringing, she is now working on her doctoral dissertation in multi-cultural education so chickens appear to be an appropriate intellectual stimulus. dr. phil might not agree.

Sean Black, son of Gruntled and Sporcupine, is delighted with a rubber chicken he got for his birthday. He likes to hide it in places from which it spring at the unsuspecting -- the top of the door, the cereal closet, the couch pillow.
