loverly

I had a very fine Fourth of July -- got to see Stephen, Gretchen and Hanna and Gretchen's family, and ride in a motorboat all over Lake Sinclair. The photos below are in the wrong sequence despite my best blogging-upload efforts. Hannah, despite having just been scared by a hapless chicken who flapped its wings at her, wanted to pet a chicken, so Gretchen ran all around in the neighbor's chicken yard and finally caught a chicken for Hannah to pet. As you will see, Hannah was still a little chicken-shy. The chicken was in chicken-shock.

Comments:
we made the mistake of trying the aquarium again since we thought it would not be as crowded as when we went in december...ha! that was july 3 so we spent july 4 recuperating. we did snack on all of the yummy foods we had bought at whole foods market and napped all day so it was quite the celebration for us.:):)

A quiet day in Gruntledville -- the cafe was closed, so we sat on the porch, under the barely lifting flag, and taked French social theory. (OK, I paid a student to do that). Sporcupine supplied us with Frappucinos, for which we were grateful.
