Downtown Perry

We've been talking about having a "This is My Town" photography show at the Arts Center. Here's one I might want to enter. They're getting ready to hang baskets of flowers on the lampposts on Carroll Street.

Comments:
i liked it when we were actually downtown although the parking is much better for court now. the city employees were always watering the hanging baskets and just generally sprucing up downtown. it was nice to be able to walk to the post office and library rather than trek the long distance to the parking lot and then drive whereever.

Barely, the hanging baskets are not there this year! I have been missing them...apparently a company has been hired to take care of the area and you do not see the city employees doing that.
I enjoyed watching them, too. There are just pots (a little too large, I think) along the sidewalk.
Oh, well!

After taking a closer look at No Spring's photo, I do see some baskets, so I hope they will be going up downtown after all!!!

I liked working downtown, too, back when we were on Carroll Street. It was fun to walk out into a real downtown. I'd like it even better now with the Front Porch Tea Room and Angelo's and Swanson House. I was sort of hoping when Danny fixed up the old building that we'd get to be back down there, but it didn't work out that way. (I think what he did with it is really pretty)
Re hanging the baskets, I'm going to post another picture for themoongirl.
